CGTech Releases VERICUT Software Version 8.0.2
Irvine, CA, – CGTech is now shipping VERICUT Version 8.0.2, CNC machine simulation, verification and optimization software. Various enhancements have been added to VERICUT’s Force™ and OptiPath® optimization modules, Tool Manager, and VERICUT Drilling and Fastening (VDAF).
One of VERICUT’s core strengths is the ability to use realistic cutting tools that perform, and have the same limitations as in real life. Version 8.0.2 expands on this by accommodating more types of specialized tools and 3D CAD tool assemblies through CAM interfaces, connections to tool management systems, and Cloud-based tooling.
“With a specific focus on improving connectivity and closing the design to manufacturing loop, 8.0.2 makes even more use of tooling and cutting performance information,” said VERICUT Product Manager, Gene Granata. “This direct input streamlines setup for more meaningful simulation.”
Smart tooling available from the cloud provides tool manufacturer’s recommended performance parameters. OptiPath and Force “physics-based” toolpath optimization modules integrate this information, which ensures tools are not pushed too hard or underutilized.
VERICUT’s Force Charts which show cutting conditions and forces encountered by tools, have improved interaction comparing original NC code with optimized code. This feature identifies cuts with unexpectedly high forces, chip loads, or material removal rates by showing spikes in the graphs. Force Charts are dynamically linked with VERICUT’s NC Program Review, making it easy to see identify elevated cutting conditions.
In this release, a new tool rack component stores machine attachments when not in use. Now 6-axis robots can be built, and several new VERICUT control macros add more simulation capabilities.
VDAF now has a new skin view, and several fastener visibility options. These features provide more control over viewing, which is helpful when working with complex part assemblies. VDAF 8.0.2 saves time by storing fastener models in an external file, so they can be reused by future drilling and fastening projects.
CGTech’s VERICUT® software is the standard for CNC simulation, verification, optimization, analysis, and additive manufacturing. CGTech also offers programming and simulation software for composites automated fiber-placement, tape-laying, and drilling/fastening CNC machines. VERICUT software is used by companies of different sizes in all industries. Established in 1988, and headquartered in Irvine, California; CGTech has offices worldwide.
